Use of Village of Anmore Council Chambers

In addition to the Village’s use of Anmore Elementary, we now have the ability to rent out the new trailer (Council Chambers) for community use.  The use of the Council Chambers must be during times when Village business is not being conducted (i.e. Council & Committee meetings or during regular business hours).  Typically, evening meetings are booked on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays.

For groups who are providing a service to the community as a whole or on behalf of the Village, there is no rental fee.  A damage deposit of $100 is still required.

Insurance Requirements (Village and SD43)

Insurance coverage is an important aspect of any facility rental, regardless of it is a municipal or school district facility.  Insurance protects the facility owner as well as the broader community.  If there is no insurance coverage provided and an incident were to occur, the facility owner is at a much higher risk of being held liable for damages associated with the incident.

Under specific conditions, the Village’s liability insurer, the Municipal Insurance Association of BC, can provide coverage for some community groups.  Examples of this include:  volunteers whose activities are under the direct supervision of the Village and groups who provide a service on behalf of the Village.

The Anmore Garden Club has been provided such coverage under the latter “Associate Member” coverage option.  A service agreement was required to be signed by the Anmore Garden Club and approved by Council prior to coverage being put in place.
