I consent to the terms and conditions
– All campfires are to be located on the owner’s property. No campfires on public lands unless the campfire has been approved by Council.
– Fuel volume of the campfire shall not exceed .5 meters x .5 meters x .5 meters (1½ feet x 1½ feet x 1½feet).
– All campfires shall consist of dry seasoned, untreated wood. No household garbage, building or construction materials or brush to be burned.
– The campfire must be contained in a metal ring or a rock pit or an outdoor fireplace.
– A competent adult must be present at the campfire at all times.
– Campfire to be located within 150 meters (492 feet) of approved access roads.
– No campfire within 7.6 meters (25 feet) of all combustibles, buildings or property lines.
– Equipment and other resources capable of controlling and quickly extinguishing the campfire shall be maintained at the site of the campfire at all times.
– No campfires during windy conditions that may cause sparks or burning brands to travel onto adjacent properties or onto combustible materials.
– Any campfire located on BC Hydro or Fortis BC Gas Right of Ways must be approved by the respective agency.
– The Campfire Use Permit must be readily available for inspection if requested by a representative of the Village or the Fire Department.
– Prior to igniting your campfire please visit anmore.com to check if there are any current fire bans in place.
Failure to comply with the above rules and regulations may result in a minimum fine of $100.00, plus the loss of your campfire permit for one year. Any person who sets out, starts, re-starts or kindles any open air fire, or fails to extinguish any open air fire set out, started, re-started or kindled at any time of the year, whether such fire was started under a permit or not, shall be responsible for such fire. If such fire gets out of control, the person responsible and the owner of private land where the fire was started, shall be liable for all expenses incurred by the Sasamat Volunteer Fire Department in controlling and extinguishing such fire, and any other damage originating from such fire, and shall also be liable for the remuneration or wages of all the persons employed in controlling and extinguishing such fire, including remuneration or wages for firefighters from other jurisdictions so employed.
