Water & Storm Services

Anmore’s Public Works team is responsible for water management in the community, including the delivery of water services and measures to manage stormwater systems to help prevent flooding.

The Village of Anmore supplies drinking water to residential and commercial customers within Village limits, with a focus on providing safe, high quality, aesthetically pleasing drinking water at a reasonable cost. Anmore purchases its water from Port Moody rather than sourcing it directly from Metro Vancouver as the Village does not currently have a direct connection to the Metro Vancouver water infrastructure.

The Village contracts the collection and testing of water samples to the Metro Vancouver Regional District, who collects the samples from the distribution system on a routine basis.

The Village produces a Water Quality Report, which includes a summary and discussion of the results of all sampling conducted on the Village ’s water distribution system for the previous year, as well as a discussion of projects and events affecting water quality within the Village of Anmore. A complete record of water quality sampling results can be found in the appendices of the report.

Stormwater Management

Stormwater management in Anmore focuses on how to ensure water flows efficiently away from roads, trails and other infrastructure. This helps to reduce the risk of overland flooding.

Anmore Public Works crews maintain the culverts and drainage system in the community, which includes:

  • Need examples of seasonal and annual work done

  • List of types of infrastructure.

Residents can also help to reduce the risk of flooding by ensuring that water drains effectively away from their home.

  • Keep gutters and downspouts clear of leaves and debris.

  • Make sure storm drains that border property are kept clear.
