Parks and Trails Improvements

Our parks and trail improvements initiative is dedicated to enhancing the natural beauty and accessibility of our community spaces.

We are committed to creating safe, scenic, and sustainable environments for everyone to enjoy.

Did you know that Bunzten Lake in Anmore is managed by BC Hydro? Visit BC Hydro to learn about projects and trails that surround this beautiful lake.

We have made substantial improvements to a number of trails throughout the Village.

The standard width for several trails has been increased, which is conveniently providing physical distancing space, and trail drainage has been improved to prevent future water damage.

Upcoming Parks and Trails Projects:

We are excited to involve the community in the Dr. Hal Weinberg Spirit Park Expansion Concept Plan.

Dr. Hal Weinberg Spirit Park — located at 1009 Ravenswood Drive — is Anmore’s primary outdoor community gathering space. The Village is exploring an expansion that would integrate the Ravenswood lot and better connect the park with the Anmore Community Hub.

Phase 1 of engagement took place in spring 2025, with feedback gathered at the Easter event and through an online form. With Phase 1 now complete, Phase 2 will launch in fall 2025 to refine design concepts based on community input, technical analysis, and budget considerations. Click to learn more about the project and how you can get involved.

Recent Parks and Trails Projects:

In September 2024, we installed fresh playground chips to keep the ground soft for children utilizing the playground.

During Summer of 2024, our Public Works upgraded the trail from Michael Rosen Park leading into Bert Flynn Park to improve accessibility. These enhancements will help with accessing the trails for those with strollers, wheel chairs, and other accessibility issues.
