Ma Murray Day

Celebrating our Founding Families

Let’s gather together and celebrate Ma Murray Day with fun for the whole family.

Ma Murray Day takes place every year in September to honour Margaret “Ma” Murray – a Canadian newspaper editor, publisher and columnist who became a legend in Canadian journalism. Ma Murray settled in what is now Anmore, with a homestead in the area form 1917 to 1934. Anmore celebrates her role in our history by bringing the community together each year to enjoy refreshments and participate in activities for all ages. View the 2024 Ma Murray Day flyer.

The 2024 Ma Murray Day event will take place on September 8, 2024 at Dr. Hal Weinberg Spirit Park, 2697 Sunnyside Road from 12-4 p.m.

Activities will include:

  • Market Fair
  • Sasamat Volunteer Fire Department Barbeque & Bar
  • Live Music from the band Double Overtime
  • Kids Activities
  • Community Spirit Award Presentation

New this year:

  • Bike skills course offered by Torca (kids and youth level)
  • Kids Bike Parade & Decorating Contest hosted by Anmore Youth Group
