Development Cost Charges (DCC) Bylaw Update

The Village of Anmore is updating its Development Cost Charges (DCC) Bylaw to reflect current infrastructure costs, projected growth, and changes to provincial legislation.

What are Development Cost Charges?

Development Cost Charges (DCCs) are one-time fees paid by developers when new residential or commercial development occurs. These fees help fund eligible infrastructure needed to support growth, ensuring that development contributes to growth-related infrastructure costs rather than relying solely on existing taxpayers.

DCC funds can only be used for eligible growth-related infrastructure, including:

• Roads and transportation
• Water systems
• Stormwater and drainage
• Parks and park improvements

DCCs cannot be used for day-to-day operations, routine maintenance, or infrastructure that serves only existing residents.

Why is the Village Updating the Bylaw?

Anmore’s current DCC Bylaw has been in place since 2005.

Updating the bylaw will help ensure DCC rates:

• Reflect today’s construction costs
• Support future infrastructure needs
• Align with current provincial legislation
• Help the Village plan responsibly for future growth

Public Engagement

The Village is seeking feedback on the proposed Development Cost Charges (DCC) Bylaw update.

Residents, developers, and interested parties are invited to:

• Review the background information
• View the public engagement display boards
• Attend the Public Information Session
• Submit comments before Council considers the bylaw

Review the project information, attend the public information session, and share your feedback during the engagement period. Public input will be considered before the proposed bylaw is brought forward for Council consideration.
