Urgent Advisory: Open Burning Ban Effective May 7, 2026

Fire Chief Jay Sharpe has issued an Open Burning Ban for our community effective at noon on Thursday, May 7, 2026.

All open fires are prohibited, including campfires and outdoor wood-burning appliance fires — even if you have a previously issued campfire permit.

This decision is based on current fire hazard conditions and long-term forecasts, and aligns with the Coastal Fire Centre’s ban across the southern coast of the province.
