Understanding Garbage and Recycling Service Requests

The Village has recently received questions regarding the process for reporting garbage and recycling collection concerns.

The Village manages garbage and organic waste collection services, which are funded through utility fees. Residential recycling collection for packaging and paper products is administered by Recycle BC. Both the Village and Recycle BC have contracted GFL Environmental to provide coordinated collection services in Anmore.

Residents are encouraged to contact GFL directly regarding missed collections, damaged bins, service concerns, or other collection-related issues. GFL manages collection operations, drivers, and customer service requests and is therefore best positioned to investigate concerns, coordinate any follow-up directly with residents, and provide a timely resolution.

While individual service issues are most efficiently addressed directly through GFL, the Village continues to monitor contractor performance and work with GFL to address broader service concerns and uphold service standards for the community. If a concern has not been resolved through GFL, residents are encouraged to contact the Village for further assistance.
