BC Conservation Provides Update Following Anmore Bear Attack

The BC Conservation Officer Service has concluded its capture efforts following the recent black bear attack in Anmore. After several days of monitoring, officials believe the bear involved has not returned to the area, and all traps have been removed.

During the response, BC Conservation advised that one black bear was captured, assessed, and determined not to be the bear involved in the incident. The bear was ear-tagged and safely relocated, and no bears were dispatched in relation to this event.

The BC Conservation Officer Service will continue to monitor bear activity in the area and respond as needed to ensure public safety. Residents are encouraged to remain bear aware and secure attractants.
