Halloween Cleanup Made Easy

November 2 2026

Don’t let Halloween haunt your bins! Here’s how to sort your Halloween leftovers.

Pumpkins → Green Bin
Remove candles, lights and decorations. Keep pumpkins free of paint and glitter, and don’t use plastic bags. Chop large pumpkins into smaller pieces so the lid closes securely.

Candy Wrappers → Flexible Plastics Recycling (dropped off at a depot or London Drugs)
Many crinkly plastic candy wrappers and packaging can be recycled as Flexible Plastics at participating Recycle BC depots and London Drugs locations. Some packaging isn’t accepted, so check before you drop it off.

Find a depot: RecycleBC.ca/Depots
See accepted materials: RecycleBC.ca/Flexible-Plastics

Collection Reminder: Set your carts out Friday morning between 5:30 and 7 a.m. Never leave carts out overnight, as they can attract wildlife.

Prefer Drop-Off? Pumpkins and food waste can be taken to the United Boulevard Recycling and Waste Centre at 995 United Boulevard, free of charge year-round.

Let’s keep Anmore clean and wildlife-friendly after Halloween! 🦌
