Official Community Plan
Anmore’s Official Community Plan (OCP) is the long-term policy document that guides how our community grows and develops. It helps ensure decisions about land use, housing, transportation, parks, community services, and environmental protection reflect the values and priorities of residents.
Authorized by the Local Government Act, every municipality in British Columbia adopts an OCP to provide a framework for future growth and planning decisions. Once adopted, the OCP becomes the foundation for all land use policies, bylaws, and development decisions in the Village.
The Planning Department manages land use and development in Anmore in accordance with the OCP and Zoning Bylaw. The Department also looks at long-term planning issues such as housing options, preservation of green space, and transportation planning.
The Zoning Bylaw works alongside the OCP to regulate specific property uses and building requirements, including density, height, and setbacks. Together, these documents ensure growth happens in a thoughtful, coordinated, and sustainable way.
