Let’s gather together and celebrate Ma Murray Day with fun for the whole family.
Ma Murray Day takes place every year in September to honour Margaret “Ma” Murray – a Canadian newspaper editor, publisher and columnist who became a legend in Canadian journalism. Ma Murray settled in what is now Anmore, with a homestead in the area from 1917 to 1934. Anmore celebrates her role in our history by bringing the community together each year to enjoy refreshments and participate in activities for all ages.
This year’s Ma Murray Day is on Sunday, September 13, 2026, from 12 to 4 p.m. at Dr. Hal Weinberg Spirit Park.
This free, family-friendly event brings the community together for an afternoon of live entertainment, local vendors, family activities, great food and more. Whether you’re visiting the Market Fair, enjoying live performances or taking part in the activities, there’s something for everyone.
What’s Happening
This year’s Ma Murray Day features live entertainment, a Market Fair, family activities, face painting, inflatables, mini golf, an eating contest, a BBQ hosted by the Sasamat Volunteer Fire Department, and a beer and wine bar. Whether you’re spending the afternoon with family, supporting local vendors or enjoying live music, there’s something for everyone.
Market Fair
The Ma Murray Day Market Fair showcases local artisans, makers, small businesses and community organizations.
Vendor applications are open until August 29, 2026, or until all spaces are filled.

Parking
Please note that parking is limited this year due to ongoing construction on Ravenswood Drive and at the Community Hub. We encourage visitors to park at Anmore Elementary School. Accessible parking is available in the upper parking lot at the Community Hub.
Live Entertainment
Enjoy performances throughout the afternoon by three talented acts showcasing a variety of musical styles.
5 on a String
With more than 30 years of performing throughout the Pacific Northwest, 5 on a String brings lively traditional bluegrass music, rich harmonies and toe-tapping fiddle tunes to audiences of all ages. Learn more about this band at https://5onastring.com/.
Lisa Rae Simons
With more than four decades of performing experience, Lisa Rae Simons is an accomplished singer, multi-instrumentalist and producer whose engaging performances feature a diverse repertoire for audiences of all ages.
Concrete Lullaby
Closing out the afternoon is Concrete Lullaby, an emerging young rock band made up of talented musicians aged 11 to 13. Their high-energy performance showcases original music and the next generation of local talent.
