Recently Completed Projects:

As part of the Village’s ongoing investment in active transportation, the first phase of the Sunnyside Road Multi-Use Path Project began in February 2024.

The Village of Anmore was awarded a $500,000 BC Active Transportation Grant to support construction of the Sunnyside Road Multi-Use Path extension. The provincial funding, announced in 2023 by the Honourable Rob Fleming, Minister of Transportation and Infrastructure, supported construction of a new segment of the pathway along Sunnyside Road.

The paved multi-use pathway is designed to accommodate a variety of users, including pedestrians, cyclists, rollerbladers, strollers, and wheelchairs. It also improves connectivity to the Village’s existing trail network and supports Anmore’s Greenway Strategy.

During the 2024 construction phase, the pathway was extended along Sunnyside Road from Summerwood Lane to Alder Way. Work included the installation of storm sewers, curbs, retaining walls, landscaping restoration, and roadway improvements to support the new multi-use pathway.

The Village’s long-term vision remains to extend the multi-use pathway to the Anmore–Port Moody boundary.

2024 Construction Highlights

The 2024 construction phase included:

  • Construction on the eastbound/northbound side of Sunnyside Road from Summerwood Lane to Alder Way.
  • Temporary single-lane traffic management to maintain local access while ensuring safe working conditions.
  • Temporary relocation of bus stops during construction.
  • Continued garbage and recycling collection throughout the project.
  • Removal of the Sunnyside Road message board at the end of its service life.
