Candidate Information Guide
The nomination period for candidates is Tuesday, August 30, 2022 to Friday September 9, 2022 at 4:00 p.m.
Interested in running for local government office?
Candidate nomination packages for Anmore Mayor, Anmore Councillor and School District 43 Trustee for Anmore/Belcarra will be available starting August 2, 2022 at Anmore Village Hall, 100 Buntzen Creek Road during regular office hours (Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 4 p.m. except statutory holidays) or by email request to elections@anmore.com.
Elections staff will be hosting an in-person Candidate Information Session on Monday, August 8 at 7 p.m. To register for this session, email elections@anmore.com or call Village Hall at 604-469-9877.
Eligibility requirements
To be eligible to run for Mayor or Council you must:
- Be 18 years of age or older on general voting day (October 15, 2022)
- Be a Canadian citizen
- Have been a resident of British Columbia for at least 6 months proper to filing of nomination documents (March 9, 2022)
- Not be disqualified from being nominated for, or being elected to or holding office
To be eligible to run for School Trustee you must:
- Be 18 years of age or older on general voting day (October 15, 2022)
- Be a Canadian citizen
- Have been a resident of British Columbia for at least 6 months proper to filing of nomination documents (March 9, 2022)
- Not be disqualified from being nominated for, or being elected to or holding office
